Counseling Services for International Students

The International Student Center (ISC) provides counseling to international students. Students and their family members are welcome to visit the ISC to discuss any questions or matters of concern, to ask for information, or simply to get to know the staff.

Services
  • the ISC provides free confidential counseling and advice on academic, personal and social matters for all International Students at the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, and their families.
  • refers students for specialist help and use other professional resources to provide direct assistance.
  • liaises with academic and administrative staff.
  • provides information on a wide range of community and government services and facilities.

    When would it help to talk to the ISC?
    If a student feels
  • culture shock
  • lonely and finding it hard to make new friends
  • homesick
  • anxious and depressed
  • worried about events or changed circumstances at home
  • discriminated against on racial grounds, or harassed.
       
    If a student has:
  • academic difficulties coping with different academic expectations and learning styles
  • health problems or stress related illness
  • family or marital problems
  • alcohol or drug problems
  • relationship difficulties
  • personal concerns.
