Immigration Matters & VISA

Passport: check with the Department of Immigration or the relevant official in the home country.

Visa: inquire at the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate in the home country. All international students must get an extendable non-immigrant education class visa (minimum 3 months) for entry into Thailand. Do not wait until the last moment to get your visa, since it normally takes about 1 week to process. If you encounter any problems getting your visa, please contact us immediately.

Re-entry Permit: if you expect to leave Thailand any time within the period that your visa remains valid, and you intend to return to Thailand again, be sure to get a single or multiple re-entry permit first, as otherwise, your non-immigrant visa will expire and have to be applied for again, outside Thailand.

90-day Check-in: all foreigners staying in Thailand for a period of 90 days or more must check in with the Immigration Department (Soi Suanphlu, Sathorn Tai Road, Bangkok 10120. Tel: 66 (0) 2287-3101) before the end of each 90-day period. You will be asked by the Immigration Official to fill out a form indicating where you are staying and the purpose of your stay. The immigration official will staple a reminder slip into your passport, so that you will not forget to check-in towards the end of the next 90-day interval. While this is the responsibility of the individual concerned, the IRC will be pleased to provide assistance with all passport, visa, re-entry permit, and 90-day check-in matters.

Please see the IRC staff at the School Office on arrival regarding the above immigration matters.
