| The SEAMEO Service Awards were approved during the 38th SEAMEO Council Conference in Manila, Philippines for further implementation. The purpose of the SEAMEO Service Awards is to provide recognition and appreciation to staff members of the SEAMEO Units who have demonstrated exceptionally high level of achievement in such areas as work performance, innovation and creativity, professionalism and commitment that contribute to the success of the Organization’s mission and goals. Each SEAMEO Unit will select annually the recipient of the SEAMEO Service Awards based on the agreed criteria. This is the 5th year of SEAMEO Service Awards Programme. The Awards announcement and the plaques presentation of 2007/2008 SEAMEO Service Awards were convened during the welcome dinner of the 43rd SEAMEO Council Conference at the Mandarin Oriental in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 13 March 2008. In collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Malaysia, the welcome and introduction session was held for all the awardees after the Opening Ceremony of the 43rd SEAMEO Council Conference at the Mandarin Oriental in Kuala Lumpur. Dr Tinsiri Siribodhi, Deputy Director for Administration and Communication of the SEAMEO Secretariat, welcomed and congratulated the awardees. A SEAMEO video presentation followed. The SEAMEO Service Awardees shared their own valued experiences contributed to the organization during the session |
