Thailand Chapter of the International Society of Tropical Pediatrics
In 1986, several countries with separate interests in Tropical Pediatrics banded together to form societies recognized as Chapters of the International Society of Tropical Pediatrics (ISTP). The ISTP stands today with firm resolve faithfully to pursue its vision of continually improving the health of children in the tropics. The ISTP operates under the auspices of the International Pediatric Association and organized its first International Congress of Tropical Pediatrics (ICTP) in Bangkok, Thailand, 8-12 November 1987.
The Thailand Chapter of the International Society of Tropical Pediatrics continues to create a network of national and international specialists, to promote the sharing of knowledge and effective collaboration in Tropical Pediatrics. It works closely with the Department of Tropical Pediatrics, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, supporting national endeavors in cooperation with the ISTP.
The current President of the Chapter is Professor Krisana Pengsaa, and the Secretary General is Assistant Professor Kriengsak Limkittikul. The ISTP office is located in the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University.
