WHO Collaborating Centre for Environmental Management for Disease Vector Control in Sustainable Development (WHO CC)
 
1.
Technical Collaboration
  The Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University has collaborated with WHO/FAO/UNEP/UNCHS/PEEM, SEAMEO TROPMED and the Ministry of Education. The collaboration has been performed for the field of environmental management and for the control of vectors associated with water resource development projects. The technical cooperation covers the entire area of environmental management in particular areas of:
 
Environmental management techniques suitable for application for malaria, DHF, filariasis, fluke infections.
Health impact assessment on water resource development projects
Epidemiology, biology and control of vectors/intermediate hosts of distomate flukes causing diseases, i.e., schistosomiasis, opithorchiasis and paragonimiasis.
Social mobilization and health education techniques for the promotion of community involvement in community management
   
2. Information Exchange
  The information is channeled through suitable means of communication that cover the entire areas of the environmental management.
   
3. Conference and Training
  The faculty of Tropical Medicine has identified its conference and training programmes that are carrying out in the correlation with its terms of reference.
   
4. Research
  During the past four years, the Faculty of Tropical Medicine has focused on research to provide this crucial evidence, which currently carrying on for many vector borne disease.

The Faculty of Topical Medicine gives priority to malaria, DHF, opisthorchiasis , filariasis, and schistosomiasis surveillance.
