INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS
SHORT TRAININGS/SEMINARS
The Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University by the Office of International Cooperation regularly offers international training courses in tropical medicine and short-course trainings in tropical diseases to medical doctors, scientists, and health personnel from various countries all over the world. The courses aim to provide participants with an up-to-date knowledge and intensive lessons in tropical medicine as well as to strengthen the participant’s potential capability on tropical medicine particularly for diagnosis, treatment management, prevention and control. These courses also provide an opportunity for experience sharing and academic exchange among participants in the international community.

The Faculty of Tropical Medicine is widely accepted as an academic institute emphasizing on research and training in tropical medicine. The both long-term and short-course trainings are not exceptionally offered to participants from the countries located in the tropics, but also possible for the other countries needed in the different areas of the world.

 
Training Areas
The on-request short-term training course in tropical medicine and several related fields offered under the Office of International Cooperation includes a collaboration of the Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Ministry of Public Health and Field Training Station. Aims and Objectives
The program aims to:
1. To provide trainees with knowledge of various topics in tropical medicine and other related fields.
2. To enable trainees to apply acquired knowledge in their workplace.
 
Admission Requirements
Applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
 
Schedule and Duration
Course run from 5 days to 1 year in length with scheduling arranged according to individual needs.
 
Curriculum
The courses involve lectures, laboratory practice, field trips, and supervised self-learning.
 
Organized Short Training Courses 2001-2008
Over 40 years that various international training courses on tropical medicine and other related fields have been organized. There are some training courses were organized by the Faculty of Tropical Medicine in collaboration with international agencies, universities and Ministry of Public Health.
