Master of Science in Tropical Medicine : M.Sc. (Trop.Med.)

Program start
The first Monday of June each year.

Objective
To provide appropriate knowledge and skills for competency in research and the ability to deliver technical services related to tropical medicine.

Admission requirements
Applicants must hold M.D., D.D.S, D.V.M., Pharmacy, B.Sc. degree and pass in the Mahidol University English Language Proficiency Test.

Qualification
  • Must be and selected for admission to study by the Faculty of Tropical Medicine
  • Is a person in good health, both physically and mentally
  • Has English language proficiency adequate to listen to and understand lectures, read, write, and to answer examination questions.
  • Persons who do not have the complete qualifications according to these regulations will be considered by the Postgraduate Committee of the Faculty of Tropical Medicine.

Academic system
  • Master of Science Programme is run on Semester Credits.
  • Students must be full-time-student
  • Computation of credits
       - Lectures or problem discussions offered for one hour a week throughout a semester or minimum of 15 hours a semester are given one credit.
       - Practical work or Laboratory work taking 2 hours a week or 30 hours throughout a semester is given one credit.

Duration of study
Maximum of 5 years.

  • Microbiology
  • Immunology

Program curriculum

  Core Subjects 12 credits
  Required Elective Subjects 8 credits
  Free Elective Subjects, at least 4 credits
  Thesis 12 credits
  Total 36 credits
