SEAMEO TROPMED Thailand’s Staff Member Received “SEAMEO Service Award 2009/2010”
The SEAMEO Secretariat organized meetings “45 th SEAMEO Council Conference and 5 th ASEAN Meeting of Education Ministers at the Shangri-la Hotel, Cebu, the Philippines. This SEAMEO Council Conference is an annual meeting of the Council of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization consisting of education ministers of the 11 SEAMEO Member Countries, namely, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam.
On this occasion, Mr. Sethavudh Kaewviset, an International Relations Officer from the International Relations Unit, Office of the Dean received the “SEAMEO Service Award 2009/2010”. The Award was jointly presented by H.E Jesli A. Lapus, Secretary, Minister of Education, the Philippines and Dato' Dr. Ahamad bin Sipon, Director, SEAMEO Secretariat. Presentation of the Service Awards (Plagues) has officially organized during a dinner welcome hosted by the Governor of Cebu, The Cebu Provincial Capitol, the Philippines.
The SEAMEO Service Awards were approved at the 38th SEAMEO Council Conference in Manila, Philippines. The purpose of the SEAMEO Service Awards is to provide recognition and appreciation to staff members of the SEAMEO Units who have demonstrated exceptionally high level of achievement in such areas as work performance, innovation and creativity, professionalism and commitment that contribute to the success of the Organization’s mission and goals. Each SEAMEO Unit selects annually the recipient of the SEAMEO Service Awards based on the agreed criteria.
