Partners Meeting on Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) targeted for Elimination/Eradication, and TDR Stakeholders Meeting on Neglected Tropical Diseases Bangkok, Thailand, 21-23 June 2010

The Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University in collaboration with the World Health Organization Regional Office for South-East Asia (WHO SEARO) jointly hosted the “Partners Meeting on Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) targeted Elimination/Eradication”, Bangkok, Thailand, 21-22 June 2010 at the Imperial Queen’s Park hotel, Sukhumvit.  There were 51 distinguished participants from 8 respective countries are Bangladesh, Bhutan, Indonesia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand participated in the meeting including WHO staff members.  The meeting aimed to share and discuss on further elimination and eradication of neglected tropical diseases remaining in South East Asia.

The TDR Stakeholders Meeting on Neglected Tropical Diseases was also partially conducted on 23 June 2010 at the Imperial Queen’s Park hotel, with its objectives to review and sharing experiences on management of neglected tropical diseases as well as setting a vision and strategies emphasizing on tropical diseases eradication and research strategic frameworks.  There were 35 distinguished participants from 7 respective countries joined the meeting namely Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Thailand including WHO Advisors and WHO staff members.
