The Faculty of Tropical Medicine - Animal Care and Use Committee (FTM-IACUC)

Maintaining humane animal care in research and teaching requires conscientious adherence to animal-welfare regulations. FTM-IACUC is responsible for -

  • Review and acceptance, rejection, or requiring modifications of research proposals involving vertebrate animals
  • Inspect all FTM animal-care facilities, including laboratories and training areas
  • Investigate concerns involving animal research
