The Ethics Committee (EC) at the Faculty of Tropical Medicine was founded in 1993, and is responsible for ensuring that the rights, safety, confidentiality, and welfare of research participants are protected, and that each study is planned, conducted, documented, and reported according to regulatory requirements. TropMed EC has registered Federalwide Assurance (FWA) with Office for Human Research Protection (OHRP), and relevant registration details can be seen below:

The Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, has been recognized by the Strategic Initiative for Developing Capacity in Ethical Review / Forum for Ethical Review Committees in Asia and the Western Pacific Region (SIDCER / FERCAP) for attaining both international and local standards for ethical review in 2008, and was awarded renews recognition in 2011, 2015 and 2019. In 2015, the Ethics Committee also recognized by National Research Council of Thailand and National Ethics Committee Accreditation System of Thailand (NECAST).
