Dr. Borimas Hanboonkunupakarn is a medical doctor and a lecturer at the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University. She works in the Hospital for Tropical Diseases and also involved in teaching and research. She teaches students from the DTM&H, MSc and PhD courses at the Bangkok School of Tropical Medicine and is the Principal Investigator on projects about malaria and dengue.

In her research she works with international colleagues from the Mahidol Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit as well as having strong connection to the Thai research community.
Her primary research areas are malaria and dengue. In malaria, she is interested in the cardiotoxicity and drug-drug interactions of antimalarials. In dengue, she is interested in factors affecting clinical manifestations of the disease.
