Research Misconduct

FTM promotes high ethical standards and has a policy in place related to misconduct in research. This policy applies to all faculty staff, students and support personnel performing research activities.

The Research Integrity & Compliance Committee (FTM-RIC) facilitates the allegations of research misconduct by oversight and prevention of misconduct in research; encouraging all staff to use the procedures for reporting possible scientific misconduct; investigating and managing to resolve research misconduct promptly in an expeditious, fair, confidential and judicious manner; and heightening awareness of problems of misconduct in science.

Research misconduct is a serious offense within the scientific community. It includes a range of different actions such as fabrication and falsification of results and plagiarism. It covers different stages of research, including proposing and reviewing research, performing research and reporting research. Research misconduct does not include honest mistakes or differences in opinion.
