Background

Ahead of the establishment of RTIC, malaria, intestinal helminthes, malnutrition and other parasitic diseases are the main health problem in this vicinity due to the land area is suitable for the transmission of the diseases. Faculty of Tropical Medicine had been conducted numerous research projects with focus on these diseases. We founded that malaria and parasitic diseases are the most threatening to health of the villagers. The RTIC, therefore, initially set the priority to these diseases.

Past Researches

1.Baseline epidemiological and socio-behavioral survey of malaria and soil-transmitted helminthiasis.
2.Epidemiology and control of malaria: including- descriptive, analytic and intervention studies.
3.Efficacy of anthelminthics in the treatment of intestinal helminth infections. Genetics and Malaria.
4.Study on the life history of chigger mites in the laboratory. Ecologic observation of Anopheline larvae vectors of malaria. Nutritional status survey.
