Hospital for Tropical Diseases Foundation
 
          The Hospital for Tropical Diseases Foundation (TDF) was founded with the objectives of strengthening medical care services for patients suffering from tropical diseases, providing free medical care for needy patients, and supporting the academic and research work of the faculty of tropical Medicine. The permission for foundation was granted by the Office of the National Culture Commission on 28 July 1995, and it was registered as a foundation on
9 October 1995, with an endowment fund of 220, 000 Baht. The foundation has been under the patronage of her royal highness princess Galayani Vadhana Krom Luang NaraDhivas Rajanagarindra since 6 February 1996.
 
          The symbol of the foundation is comprised of three Thai letters, as illustrated. The outline resembles a microscope set on a base with the name of the foundation.
 
          On 25 May 1998, Her Royal Highness Princess Galayani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhivas Rajanagarindra also accepted an invitation to chair the Tropical Diseases Trust and kindly donated an endowment fund of 300,000Baht. The main objectives of the Trust are to support research for effective treatment, providing health education to the community, and providing free medical care to needy patients. The trust also received donation a fund of
50, 000,000 Baht from the Government Lottery Office. The Tropical Diseases Trust, at present, act separately from the Hospital for Tropical Diseases Foundation.
