Rationale:

        The correct management of dengue infection requires an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of all relevant aspects of the disease. Thailand has been a dengue-endemic area since the 1950s, and the knowledge and experience gained has thus accumulated and been utilised for the effective management and control of dengue infections in the population. Participants in this training course will gain invaluable knowledge and experience from real-life situations in this highly endemic area.

Objectives:

        To provide course participants with the most relevant, comprehensive, and up-to-date knowledge of dengue infection.

Participants:

        This course is targeted at physicians and other health personnel. We plan to run the course with a maximum of 30

Learning experience:

        This course consists of lectures, demonstrations, and discussion. Case studies, ward rounds in referring hospitals, and a visit to a vector-control unit in a dengue-endemic area will ensure that participants gain real experience with dengue infections. The course will be conducted entirely in English.
