Biosafety and Biosecurity Training (English language) was held by Institutional Biosafety Committee, the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University (FTM-IBC) during 20-22 December 2021. The participants from this workshop can learn the principle for biosafety and biosecurity, laws and regulations that related to pathogens, animal toxin and Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs). There were total of 58 participants. There were 7 speakers including 1) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pornsawan Leaungwutiwong, Head of the Department of Microbiology and Immunology 2) Prof. Dr. Srisin Khusmith, Consultant of the Department of Microbiology and Immunology 3) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pornpan Pumirat 4) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nathamon Kosoltanapiwat 5) Asst. Prof. Akanitt Jittmittraphap 6) Dr. Thammanitchpol Denpetkul, Deputy Head of the Department of Social and Environmental Medicine 7) Dr. Boosaree Titapiwatanakun, Scientist, the Office of Research Services.
The training course offered 2 parts which are online lectures via Zoom application (covered 12 topics such as Law and Regulation, Waste Management and Lab Acquire Infection) and Onsite Workshop (covered 3 practical stations including Facility Design, Personal Protective Equipment and Biological Spill Kit). The workshop took place at Chalermprakiat Conference Room, 5th Floor, Chalermprakiat Building. Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University.
