Vector surveillance
The Department has developed the vector surveillance platform that is currently applied in vector borne diseases projects such as malaria and dengue. This platform has been used for over 10 years in the International Centers of Excellence for Malaria Research (ICEMR) project, https://www.icemr-sea.org/, funded by NIH, USA with the aim to provide scientific support to malaria elimination in Mekong sub-region. In addition, our team has investigated the effect of seasonal variations, monthly climate variability, and to identify local clusters of symptomatic disease at the sub-district level based on reported dengue cases. This study was published on BMC Infectious Diseases. They examined the epidemiology of dengue in Khon Kaen Province, Thailand between 2006 and 2016.
