Background

Dr. Thareerat Kalambaheti is Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology. She obtained her M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Microbiology from University of New South Wales and Monash University, Australia, respectively. She is involved in research in the department and teaching at the Bangkok School of Tropical Medicine.

Research

Dr. Thareerat is a microbiologist with specialization in molecular typing of bacteria, molecular diagnosis, and recombinant protein production. One example of her research works is the classification of Leptospira sp into group, based on genes encoding O-Ag polymerase. She has published a number of studies leading to further discoveries of Brucellosis in Thailand.
