Background

Clinical Malaria Research Unit was established in late 2013 and is located on the 2nd floor of the Sornchai Looareesuwan Building (Eastern side), Faculty of Tropical Medicine to support research activities in the Faculty of Tropical Medicine. The research activities of the unit is focused on malaria disease mainly in Clinical aspect both hospital based and field based researchs with the aims; to determine the patho-physiogenesis in severe malaria, to investigate the new malaria treatment including adjuvant therapies, to determine the safety and efficacy for malaria treatment, etc. The unit has collaboration with Phop-Phra Hospital, Tak and Suan-Phung Hospital as well as The Rajanagarindra Tropical Disease International Centre (RTIC), Ratchaburee to study in the field works.

We also collaborated with Department of Radiology, Ramathibodi-Hospital, Faculty of Medicine at Ramathibodi Hospital; Department of Pathobiology, Faculty of Science; Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Allied Health Science, Thammasat University, Thailand; Bureau of Vector Borne Disease; Department of Medical Science, Ministry of Public Health, Thailand; Department of Immunology and Medicine, USAMC-AFRIMS, Thailand; (National Center for Global Health and Medicine, Japan) and Department of Pediatrics, Columbia University, U.S.A., and McLaughlin Center for Molecular Medicine, University of Toronto, Canada.
