Personal Statement

Dr. Borimas is an assistant professor in Department of Clinical Tropical Medicine, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University. She has background as a medical doctor with a Diploma in Tropical Medicine. Malaria elimination is her main research topic. She is also interested in other tropical and emerging diseases such as dengue, rickettsiosis and COVID-19. She has been working in collaboration with researchers from various institutes, including Mahidol-Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit. She has experiences in several clinical trials on antimalarial drugs, antiparasitic drugs, COVID-19 drugs, and malaria vaccines. Recently, she has involved in Malaria Infection Study in Thailand (MIST) Project to develop controlled human vivax malaria infection model in an endemic area, which will facilitate the rapid development and testing of new vivax malaria vaccine candidates.
