Philosophy, justification and objectives of the curriculum

 

Philosophy

The graduates from this program will have adequate clinical and research knowledge, as well as skills on tropical pediatrics to apply in clinical practice for the benefit of mankind.

Objectives of the program:

To produce graduates who have the characteristics, knowledge and skills as follows:

  • Perform clinical practice and research in compliance with academic integrity.
  • Perform standard clinical practice in general and tropical pediatrics.
  • Perform clinical research in tropical pediatrics.
  • Formulate professional teamwork in clinical practice and research.
  • Retrieve, process, analyze and present data as well as communicate using appropriate technologies.

PLO1: Demonstrate ethical consideration in medical practice.
PLO2: Demonstrate ethical consideration and code of conduct in clinical research.
PLO3: Describe the tropical diseases in important aspects of epidemiology, clinical presentations, diagnosis, treatment, prevention and control.
PLO4: Describe research methodologies and principle of good clinical practice.
PLO5: Formulate the diagnosis and management of tropical pediatrics based on clinical information.
PLO6: Organize clinical research in tropical pediatrics according to international standard.
