Supawat Chatchen

Dr. Supawat Chatchen is the Deputy Head of Department of Tropical Pediatrics, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, Thailand. With over 10 years of expertise in tropical diseases and pediatric infectious disease research, he has significantly contributed to developing laboratory testing in Dengue virus and Zika virus (Flavivirus), the molecular epidemiology of pediatric viral infections like Arbovirus, Enterovirus. A pioneer in identifying the Zika virus infection in schoolchildren in Thailand since 2007, Dr. Supawat has contributed for advancing tropical pediatric education and encouraging domestic and global collaborations.
