About

Aongart Mahittikorn

Dr. Aongart is Associate Professor in the Department of Protozoology. He obtained his B.Sc. in Public Health and Ph.D. in Tropical Medicine from Mahidol University. He teaches students from the Diploma, M.Sc. and Ph.D. courses at the Bangkok School of Tropical Medicine in the topics related to Medical Protozoology. His expertise includes molecular diagnosis and molecular epidemiology of zoonotic protozoal diseases and other parasitic diseases. His research focuses on the development of a new molecular diagnostic technique in order to provide an alternative tool for use in resource-poor settings. He has a particular interest in investigating the molecular epidemiology and zoonotic potential of enteric protozoa in both humans and animals.
