Personal Statement

          Dr. Weerapong Phumratanaprapin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Tropical Medicine. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Chulalongkorn University.  He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Rajavithi Hospital, Ministry of Public Health, Bangkok, Thailand. He has Diplomas from the Thai Board of Internal Medicine, the Thai Board of Nephrology, the Thai Board in the Specialty of Family Medicine, and the Thai Board of Preventive Medicine (Travel Medicine) all received from the Thai Medical Council. He actively teaches graduate students and supervises several Masters and PhD students at the Bangkok School of Tropical Medicine.

         Dr. Weerapong’s medical specialty is nephrology, with emphasis on acute kidney injury and renal diseases associated with dengue, malaria and other tropical diseases. He has broad experience with acute kidney injury management and medical research in acute kidney injury among dengue and malaria patients.
