Biomedical and Health Informatics (BHI) Opens Applications for 2027 Admission

The Biomedical and Health Informatics (BHI) programme at the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, is accepting online applications for 2027 admission. The first application round is open until 30 November 2026.

Four application rounds are available for first-semester entry, with a fifth round for second-semester entry:

  • Round 1: 1 October–30 November 2026
  • Round 2: 1 December 2026–31 January 2027
  • Round 3: 1 February–31 March 2027
  • Round 4: 1 April–31 May 2027
  • Round 5: 1 July–30 September 2027

Applicants must complete their applications through the Faculty of Graduate Studies’ Online Admission System by the relevant deadline. The application fee is THB 500–550. Examination dates follow the programme’s schedule.

Prof. Dr. Saranath Lawpoolsri Niyom and Prof. Emeritus Dr. Jaranit Kaewkungwal of the Department of Tropical Hygiene, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, served as speakers at a research ethics discussion titled “Left-over Specimens: Can ‘Left-overs’ Be Used for Research?” organized by the Research Services Office on 29 September 2026.

The session provided an opportunity for faculty members, researchers, staff, and students to exchange views on research ethics through discussions of real cases, focusing on the use of left-over specimens for research and ethics review.

The Department of Tropical Hygiene welcomed students from the Tropical Medicine (TM) Program for a visit to learn more about the department, its faculty members, research, and various projects.

During the visit, faculty members introduced the department and shared information about their areas of work, research, and projects. Current students also shared their learning experiences with the visiting students.

The visit provided an opportunity for TM students to learn more about the department and its academic and research activities.

Professor Dr. Srivicha Krudsood, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, received an award recognizing administrators and experts from network organizations that have contributed to driving vector-borne disease efforts outside the Department of Disease Control.

The Biomedical and Health Informatics (BHI) Program, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, successfully held BHI Orientation Day 2026 on 15 August 2026 at JK Commons, 9th Floor, Department of Tropical Hygiene, Tranakchit Harinasuta Building, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University.

The orientation brought BHI students together through activities designed to help them get to know each other. The program included Pro-Tips, a lunchtime meet-up, and a VR & Avatar Station, providing opportunities for students to connect and engage with one another.

The event provided a warm and engaging start for students as they began their academic journey with the BHI Program.

The BHI Program would like to thank all students and everyone who took part in making BHI Orientation Day 2026 a great start to the new academic journey.

The Biomedical and Health Informatics (BHI) Program, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, successfully held BHI Research Day 2026 on 14 August 2026, from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM at the JK Commons Room, 9th Floor, Tranakchit Harinasuta Building, Department of Tropical Hygiene, Faculty of Tropical Medicine.

Held under the theme “Explore. Discover. Transform. From Student Insights to Global Impacts,” the event featured research presentations by BHI students on topics including public health, health systems, digital health, telemedicine, machine learning, and health informatics.

The event provided an opportunity for students to present their research, exchange knowledge, and share ideas with instructors and fellow participants.

The Department of Tropical Hygiene, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, has joined the SECURE project as a consortium partner under the ASEAN–UK Health Security Partnership (HSP) Peer-Exchange Programme.

Dr. Myat Su Yin represents Mahidol University in this regional collaboration, which focuses on cross-border digital health interoperability and surveillance in ASEAN. Through its participation, the department contributes to collaborative efforts to enable digital health systems to exchange and use information across borders and support surveillance in the region.
