Urusa Thaenkham

Dr. Urusa Thaenkham is an Associate Professor of Parasitology in the Department of Helminthology, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, and the Program Director for the Master of Science in Tropical Medicine. Her research primarily focuses on food-borne helminthiases. She collaborates with international experts to address challenges in helminthology, particularly in the systematics and classification of helminths. Dr. Urusa co-founded ‘ParaCite’, a pioneering BioBank for parasitic helminths in the Asia-Pacific region that has significantly advanced research and diagnostics. Beyond her research, she is deeply committed to teaching and mentoring tropical medicine and parasitology students.
