
Mathirut Mungthin
Colonel Professor Mathirut Mungthin is the Deputy Director (Administration) of the Phramongkutklao College of Medicine and the President of the Parasitology and Tropical Medicine Association of Thailand. With over 25 years of expertise in parasitology research, he has significantly contributed to studying drug resistance in malaria, the biology and epidemiology of tropical diseases like Leishmaniasis, and molecular diagnostics. A pioneer in discovering Leishmania orientalis, Prof. Mathirut is renowned for advancing tropical medicine education and fostering global collaborations. His accolades include the WFP Distinguished Achievement Award (2022) and the Gold Medal at the Geneva Invention Exhibition (2022).
