On 1 December 2022, Dean Weerapong Phumratanaprapin, Deputy Dean for Research, Research Prof. Dr. Jetsumon Prachumsri and Deputy Dean for International Relations, Prof. Kesinee Chotivanich together with Administrative Board members welcomed Dr. Haji Tahir bin Aris, Director, Institute for Medical Research (IMR) and Director, SEAMEO TROPMED Regional Centre for Microbiology, Parasitology and Entomology (TROPMED/Malaysia) and team members and Dr. Fernando B. Garcia, Jr., Director for SEAMEO TROPMED Philippines and Dean, College of Public Health University of the Philippines Manila and team members to the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University.
On this occasion, they gave an overview about their institution and discussed on ongoing research of interest for further collaboration at Chalermprakiat conference room, 5th floor of Chalermprakiat building, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University and also via Zoom meeting. They also had a chance to visit the Hospital for Tropical Diseases led by Dr. Sant Muangnoicharoen, Deputy Director of the Hospital for Tropical Diseases to observe its services and laboratory facilities and equipment on tropical diseases.
