On 23 January 2024, the Faculty of Tropical Medicine together with the Institute for Technology and Innovation Management, Mahidol University held a signing ceremony for the permission contract to produce and distribute the Rapid Melioidosis Test Kit with Immunochromatography Method between Mahidol University and Sierra BioScience Co., Ltd. This agreement aims to promote cooperation between private sector and university in disseminating knowledge and technology related to the Rapid Melioidosis Test Kit with Immunochromatographic Method. It is also a model for promoting product development through public-private partnerships. The event was attended by representatives from Mahidol University, including Assoc. Prof. Weerapong Phumratanaprapin, Dean of Faculty of Tropical Medicine, and Assoc. Prof. Dr.Yodchanan Wongsawat, Director of Institute for Technology and Innovation Management, as well as representatives from Sierra BioScience Co., Ltd., including Prof. Dr.Narisara Chantratita, the inventor of the test kit and lecturer in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, with the Chairman of Sierra BioScience Co., Ltd., and Dr.Husyanee Binmaeil, Managing Director. They jointly signed the permission contract at Chalermprakiat room on the 5th floor of Chalermprakiat Building, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University. On this occasion, the Dean of the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr.Pornsawan Leaungwutiwong, Deputy Dean for Research Compliance, representing the Tropical Medicine Diagnostic Development Center (TropMed-DC), and Assoc. Prof. Dr.Nitaya Indrawattana, Head of Department of Microbiology and Immunology, presented the bouquet of flowers to congratulate Prof. Dr.Narisara Chantratita, the inventor of the work.
