On 6 June 2024, Assoc. Prof. Weerapong Phumratanaprapin, Dean of Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, along with the administrative board and faculty committee, cordially welcomed Dr.Sophon Iamsirithavorn, Inspector General of Health Region 2 at the Ministry of Public Health, and Asst. Prof. Dr.Ramate Wongwilairat, the Director of Mae Sot Hospital, along with a delegation from Tak Border Health Learning Center to discuss the establishment of a learning center, exchange operational knowledge, create of joint agreement and accreditation of the course curriculum. The event took place at Maegraith Conference Room, 8th floor of the 60th Anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne Building, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University.
The discussion addressed the development of joint tropical diseases curriculum between the Faculty of Tropical Medicine with Tak Border Health Learning Center of Mae Sot Hospital. Additionally, the participants exchanged information on the malaria situation in the Thai-Myanmar border area and explored avenues for future cooperation to ensure that research on tropical diseases in Thailand remains current and beneficial to the country.
