On 2 September 2025, Assoc. Prof. Weerapong Phumratanaprapin, Dean of the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, together with Prof. Dr.Kesinee Chotivanich, Deputy Dean for International Relations, Dr. Phimphan Pitsuwan, Assistant Dean for International Relations, and Dr. Natthida Sriboonvorakul, Associate Professor of the Department of Clinical Tropical Medicine, warmly welcomed Dr. Sophie Charlotte Schneitler from the Institute of Microbiology, Immunology and Hygiene, Cologne University, Germany.

              Dr. Sophie has been appointed as Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Tropical Medicine for the fiscal year 2025. The meeting took place at the 6601 Conference Room, the 60th Anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne Building, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University.

            On this occasion, Dr. Sophie shared insights about Cologne University and her areas of expertise, which opened discussions on potential collaboration in education, research, and travel medicine. The meeting also explored the possibility of establishing an MoU between the two institutions, further strengthening academic and research partnerships.
