On 6 February 2026, the Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, warmly welcomed Professor Darren Gray from the Queensland Institute of Medical Research (QIMR Berghofer), Australia, and Professor Alex Loukas from James Cook University, Australia. The delegation was received by Research Professor Dr. Jetsumon Prachumsri, Deputy Dean for Research; Professor Dr. Kesinee Chotivanich, Deputy Dean for International Relations; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dorn Watthanakulpanich, Head of the Department of Helminthology; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Poom Adisakwattana, Department of Helminthology, at the 6601 Conference Room, Chalermprakiat 60 Years Building, Faculty of Tropical Medicine.
During the visit, both sides engaged in fruitful discussions and exchanged perspectives on ongoing and future research, particularly in the areas of helminth infections, malaria, and other tropical diseases, where all institutions identified strong potential for collaborative research. The visit also included a commemorative photo session to mark the MoU between the Faculty of Tropical Medicine and QIMR Berghofer, reflecting a shared commitment to long-term academic and research collaboration.
