Dr. Muthita Vanaporn is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology. She earned her B.Sc. in Medical Technology from Chulalongkorn University and completed her Ph.D. in Immunology at Mahidol University, Thailand. She pursued her postdoctoral fellowship at School of Biosciences, University of Exeter, United Kingdom. She is involved in both research and teaching. She teaches graduate and postgraduate students at the Bangkok School of Tropical Medicine.

Dr. Muthita is among the researchers in the Faculty of Tropical Medicine who specialize in bacterial infections especially melioidosis. Her research focuses on molecular microbiology and pathogenesis of Burkholderia pseudomallei, the causative agent of melioidosis. She collaborates with her colleagues in the UK and Italy in a B. pseudomallei pathogenesis project.
