Background

Dr. Kesinee Chotivanich is Professor in the Department of Clinical Tropical Medicine. She received her M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Pathobiology from Mahidol University, Thailand. She has a broad background in pathobiology with particular expertise in cell and tissue culture and the pharmacodynamics of antimalarial drugs.

Dr. Kesinee is an authority in malaria research. She has published over 100 publications, many of which are leading research achievements in the field of malaria studies, such as detection of artemisinin resistance in P. falciparum, and transmission-blocking activities of antimalarial drugs. The method of identification of artemisinin resistance P. falciparum was firstly developed in her lab.
