Dr. Matthew is Lecturer in the Department of Molecular Tropical Medicine and Genetics. He obtained his B.Sc. in Biology from Mahidol University, Thailand and Ph.D. in Tropical Medicine from Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, United Kingdom. He teaches Diploma, M.Sc. and Ph.D. students at the Bangkok School of Tropical Medicine.

Dr. Matthew is expert in proteomics, biology and biochemistry of malaria parasites, and antimalarial mechanism of action and resistance. His research focuses are drug discovery and mechanism for multidrug resistant anaerobic bacteria, and target identification and mechanism of action and resistance of artemisinin drug in Plasmodium parasites. He is also working on development of new tools for tuberculosis diagnosis.
