Dr. Athit Phetrak is one of the faculty members in the Department of Social and Environmental Medicine. He obtained his B.Sc. in Public Health from Mahidol University, M.Sc. in Environmental Technology and Management from Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand, and Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan. He was a postdoctoral research fellow in the Urban Water Systems Laboratory, University of Tokyo, Japan. Dr. Athit teaches students in Diploma, MSc. and Ph.D. courses at the Bangkok School of Tropical Medicine.
Dr. Athit is a specialist in research evaluating water quality and drinking water systems. His research focuses on controlling the contaminants and chemicals in drinking water, which can reduce the potential cause of cancers and other diseases. His expertise also includes water treatment technologies, health risk assessment of chemical contaminants in water and environmental management.
