Background

Dr. Kittiyod Poovorawan is Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Tropical Medicine. He is a medical doctor with a Board-certified internal medicine and gastroenterologist. He is specialized in both teaching and clinical research. He teaches students from the Diploma, M.Sc. and Ph.D. courses at the Bangkok School of Tropical Medicine. He works as a gastroenterology consultant physician and deputy director at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

Research

Dr. Kittiyod is a medical doctor with expertise in internal medicine, gastroenterology, hepatology, and clinical research of tropical diseases. His primary research area is liver diseases included viral hepatitis, liver abscess, chronic liver diseases, and gastrointestinal involvement of tropical diseases. He is experienced in conducting clinical trials study focusing on viral hepatitis and tropical infectious diseases. In bioethics aspect, he regularly attended and is updated on GCP trainings .He is a reviewer for the FTM Ethics Committee and the Thai Central Research Ethics Committee. In national research service, he is a subcommittee in research of Gastroenterological Association of Thailand and Thai Association for the Study of the Liver. He has published more than 40 international peer-reviewed research articles in the area of infectious diseases, tropical medicine, internal medicine and gastroenterology.
