Background

Dr. Piengchan Sonthayanon is Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular Tropical Medicine and Genetics. She received her B.Sc. in Biology from Chiangmai University. She has an M.Sc. in Biochemistry and Ph.D. in Tropical Medicine from Mahidol University, Thailand. She teaches students from the Diploma, MSc and PhD courses at the Bangkok School of Tropical Medicine.

Dr. Piengchan’s expertise include molecular-based diagnosis of bacterial infection and typing based on genotype and protein fingerprinting of bacteria pathogen.
