History and origin
ACTTEAM was founded as Community-Based Organization (CBO) under STAR and presently established as the ACTTEAM foundation. The funding was mainly from Global Fund and National Health Security Organization, to tackle problems of HIV/AIDS and other infections and harm reduction.
The office is located at 164/29 Chataphadung Road, Meung Khon Kaen District, Khon Kaen, 40000.
We collaborate with hospitals and local organization, such as Provincial/District Health Promotion Hospitals and Thanyarak Khon Kaen Hospital, with which we connect for rehabilitation and support for drug users and people with HIV/AIDS and other infections, with aims to be a safe space for service without stigmatization and with commitment to client confidentiality.
We provide sexual health services such as HIV, STD, syphilis, gonorrhea, and hepatitis B and C testing, with pre- and post-test consultation to enhance understanding and relieve worry, and free postal PrEP and PEP delivery, to prevent and mitigate risk of HIV. We also provide harm reduction service, distributing clean needles, condoms, and lubricant, to advocate safe sex.
Contribution to communities
Communities can access to free and safe health services, and this can prevent HIV and STD outbreak, enhance understanding, and reduce stigmatization of vulnerable groups such as Men who have Sex with Men (MSM), Transgender Women (TGW), Male Sex Worker (MSW), and People Who Inject Drug (PWID).
