ที่มาและความสำคัญ : ความร่วมมือของคณะเวชศาสตร์เขตร้อน มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ต่อองค์กรระหว่างประเทศ(WHO) และนานาชาติ
The Joint International Tropical Medicine Meeting (JITMM) is the largest tropical-medicine conference in Southeast Asia. It aims to provide a platform for researchers and health practitioners from around the world to share and discuss the latest developments and trends in tropical medicine, global health, and infectious diseases. JITMM has been held annually for 25 years.
On 15 December 2020, the opening ceremony, Assst Prof. Dr. Weerapong Phumiratanaprapin, Dean of Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University and Chairperson of Organizing Committee commenced the program with the meeting report, followed by two welcoming addresses from Dr. Opas Karnkawinpong Director-General, Department of Disease Control The Ministry of Public Health, and Prof. Nicholas Day, Director of the Mahidol Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit, Thailand (MORU). The meeting is officially opened by Prof. Banchong Bahaisavariya, President of Mahidol University.
Research Professor Dr. Jetsumon Prachumsri, Vice-chairperson of Organizing Committee introduced keynote speaker Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus , Director-General World Health Organization to deliver the 25th Chumlong-Tranakchit Harinhasuta Lecture.

บทบาทของหน่วยงาน : เป็นผู้จัดงาน และมีทีมวิทยากร Share ในแต่ละ session แลกเปลี่ยนความรู้ การนำเสนองานวิจัยของบุคลากร และนักศึกษาของคณะ และร่วมแสดงความคิดเห็นกับนักวิจัยจากประเทศต่างๆ มีจำนวน มากกว่า 20 ห้องย่อย
วัตถุประสงค์ของการจัดงาน : แลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์ ผลงานวิจัย การแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลที่ทันสมัย การแสดงความก้าวหน้าทางเทคโนโลยี การเพิ่มศักยภาพความร่วมมือเพิ่มมากขึ้น
จำนวนผู้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรม : นักวิจัยจากทั่วโลก มากกว่า 800 คน
ช่วงเวลาที่จัดกิจกรรม : 15-16 ธันวาคม 2563
ข้อสรุปที่ได้จากงานสัมมนา(ถ้ามี) : การแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ด้านโรคเขตร้อน โดยเฉพาะการระบาดของโรคโคโรน่าไวรัส 2019 การได้ข้อมูลที่ทันสมัย เกี่ยวกับการรักษา ตัวยา พฤติกรรมของคน และอื่นๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้องในการดูแลรักษาผู้ป่วยจากโรคเขตร้อน เป็นต้น
ผลลัพธ์ที่ได้จากการจัดงาน(ถ้ามี) : เพิ่มความสามารถในการวิจัย และความรู้ประสบการณ์ทางวิชาการ การขยายงานวิจัย การสร้างเครือข่ายระหว่างสมาชิก ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับ Tropical diseases
